"Start to Finish Timber Sale"

Sims Forestry Services can handle all aspects of a timber sale, from "start to finish", for landowners. This includes weekly monitoring of any activities on the landowners property. Sims Forestry Services will provide

• Timber marking or cruising
• Volume and value estimates
• Writing a Notice of Timber Sale and Timber Sale Contract
• Notifying potential bidders of the sale and showing the sale area to them
• Conducting a sealed bid timber sale
• Monitoring the actual logging.
• Depending on the circumstances, courthouse research, locating boundary lines, laying out log roads and skid trails, and other activities may be necessary and are included in the "Start to Finish Timber Sale".

Preparing timber taxation data is not included in the timber sale package but is often requested by landowners.This involves developing the necessary information so the landowner can pay the minimum amount of taxes necessary after a timber sale. An additional cruise, with growth information included, is necessary to determine the timber volumes at the time of purchase or inheritance, and the value at the time of acquisition. The timber basis, timber depletion units, and the actual timber depletion from the timber sale is provided.

Other services provided to landowners include timber management plans, timber trespass damage estimates, Forest Stewardship plans, insect and storm damage estimates, and other forestry related activities.
