1984-1987 - Area Manager for Continental Can Company at Chase City, Virginia, responsible for 76,000 acres of timberlands in south Central Virginia, a forester, and two laborers. Activities included timber sales, timber sale preparations, road location, site prep burning, and prescribed burning.
1977-1984 - CFM Forester with Westvaco at Covington, Virginia, The work involved procurement and landowner assistance activities including writing forest management plans, cruising timber, laying out timber sales, located logging roads, and monitoring the activities of loggers on private land and company purchased timber in Highland, Bath, Allegheny, and Craig Counties.
